Run for a New Start  |  2016 Results

In May 2016, OCISO was blessed indeed, for our inaugural “Run for a New Start” volunteers overcame intense heat to complete their 2km, 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km races in the Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend.

We are so very appreciative that our 51 volunteers and their over 200 sponsors were able to raise a total of $12,451 in support of OCISO’s programs with refugee and immigrant youth!

And we were inspired by the large number of newcomer youth runners who joined us too, and were very excited when CTV News broadcast a special feature on them: .

OCISO has again registered as a charity for the upcoming Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend (May 27-28, 2017), and we’ve set ourselves the very ambitious goal of raising $20,000 this time, in support of OCISO’s youth programs.

We invite runners and walkers to join our “Run for a New Start” fundraising team. Volunteers who commit to raising $100 will receive our cool Tshirt pictured above!

For more information, contact our volunteer coordinator
David Rain at drain@nullociso.org.
