The Ottawa Newcomer Entrepreneurs Hub (ONE Hub) is an initiative developed by the coalition partners World Skills, OCISO, & OCLF along with the support of our community partners Pinecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre and Vitesse Re-Skilling Canada, funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
The ONE Hub aims to remove barriers to entrepreneurship and to support the social and economic integration of current and aspiring entrepreneurial newcomers by providing them with training, business support, funding advice, networking and mentorship opportunities, and by connecting them with other key players within the ecosystem.
We provide training, business coaching, mentorship, work shadowing, financial literacy support, in addition to our specialized workshops, alumni program and many networking opportunities. Our services will help newcomers learn about doing business in Canada and prepare them to become successful entrepreneurs. ONE Hub is a one-stop shop for aspiring entrepreneurial newcomers. Explore our services below.
Business coaching sessions: These 1-hour sessions are available to any client at the ONE Hub who wants to discuss their business idea(s) and start/further develop a business plan with the Business Development Advisor. These sessions are one-on-one only, currently over Zoom, and scheduled on an as-needed basis. Interested? Get your referral!
Our Entrepreneurial Mentorship Program is designed to empower aspiring entrepreneurs with the confidence, skills, and essential tools to reach significant milestones on their entrepreneurial path. Our mission is to break down the barriers to success by fostering meaningful connections between newcomer entrepreneurs and seasoned mentors within the vibrant Canadian business landscape.

Work shadowing opportunities: The ONE Hub will offer work shadowing opportunities once deemed safe by the public health authorities. The goal will be for newcomer entrepreneurs to learn first-hand what is involved in running a small business in Ottawa. In the meantime, we are offering virtual panels with a semi-private Q&A session with local entrepreneurs who share their insights and best practices on opening a business in different industries. If this opportunity catches your eye, get your referral through our Intake, Assessment and Referral Counsellor!
The Alumni Program fosters a community of engaged immigrant entrepreneurs who support each other through peer communication channels and networking opportunities.
