The Federal Internship for Newcomer Program (FINP) provides newcomers with the opportunity to gain Canadian work experience within the federal government and private sector organizations, with a view to improving integration into the Canadian labour market.
OCISO’s Career Mentoring Program in partnership with FINP provides mentoring support to the Interns within and beyond their Internship.
An experienced federal government professional (Mentor) provides advice and support for up to eight months.

OCISO provides volunteer Mentors with on-going guidance/tools and conducts a comprehensive follow up with Mentors and Mentees during the mentoring period. This support and training provides volunteer Mentors with the opportunity to further develop valuable coaching, leadership, and cross-cultural competencies.
