About the Program

The Intercultural Pan-Canadian Green Buildings and Retrofits Training Project: Coast to Coast to Coast is a nationwide initiative designed to equip individuals across six provinces and one territory with the skills, knowledge, and support needed to thrive in Canada’s growing green economy. As the demand for low-carbon, energy-efficient buildings continues to rise, this program provides accessible, high-impact training opportunities that meet the needs of both workers and industry.

Project Overview - 9-Week Training

Five weeks of self-paced online training

  • Earn the Green Building and Retrofits Micro-credential training certificate
  • Sustainable Building Basics
  • Energy Analysis & Verification
  • Efficient Energy Systems
  • Envelope & Retrofit Systems
  • Safety & Compliance Basics

Four weeks

  • Practicum or
  • Employment Placement

Client Eligibility

  • Must be 18 years or above
  • Canadian Citizen / Permanent Resident / Refugee Status
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Self-identify as one or more: Newcomer, 2SLGBTQI+, Indigenous, Black Canadian, Woman, Racialized person, Person with disabilities

Allocation of seats per cohort

  • Each training cohort has limited space, and spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • If a cohort is full, this program runs on a rolling basis.
  • New training groups begin regularly, so if you miss one, you’ll be considered for the next available opportunity.
  • Our team will stay in touch to ensure you’re supported every step of the way.

Wrap-around supports

To ensure full participation, eligible individuals may receive support for:

  • Transportation Allowance
    Get help covering travel costs so you can attend your practicum or job placement without barriers.
  • Dependent Care
    Access support for child or dependent care, allowing you to focus on your training or work.
  • Completion Bonus
    Earn a financial bonus when you successfully complete the 5-week micro-credential program.
  • Needs-Based Support
    Receive personalized assistance tailored to your unique circumstances.
  • Job Search Support
    Get expert help with resumes, networking, and interview prep to land your next role.
  • Wage Subsidy
    Connect with employers through wage subsidy incentives after completing your training.
