Mentee - Newcomer existed to employment in my Field

I moved to Ottawa in December 2019. We have all been bogged down by the pandemic ever since March 2020. Owing to this, initially, neither could I find any opportunity nor could I find anyone to reach out to seek advice about my field, the steps to approach for job search etc. as everything was uncertain at the time.

But as humans as we were looking at the progress we were making in fighting the pandemic, I reached out to OCISO and I immediately had opportunity to have informational interviews with a few people from my field, thanks to Michelle.

I was also fortunate enough to be assigned a mentor from my field who understood exactly what I was looking for and helped me not just to review and design my resume as per Canadian requirements but also helped me with the practice of the behavioral interview questions.

She also had boosted my morale form time to time and helped me build up my confidence.

OCISO, please keep up the good work for all the newcomers – thanks for the help and support that you provide as we look to get into the Canadian Labor Market.
