OCISO annually serves approximately 10,000 newcomers through our various award-winning programs. We rely on the support of community donors and sponsors in addition to the funding we receive from government, foundation and education sector funders. We are immensely grateful to our funders, donors and sponsors. Your contributions enable us to continue to offer our wide-ranging programs and to effectively meet the emerging needs in our community.

How You Can Support Us

Please help us to build a stronger, healthier diverse community. Every dollar counts! These are just some of the ways you can support us.

Make a Donation

  • Donate directly to an OCISO Program through Canada Helps. You have the option to select a specific fund/designation.
  • Donate by mailing us a cheque made out to OCISO to this address: 959 Wellington Street West, Ottawa, Ontario, K1Y 2X5. You can designate your donation to a specific fund/designation in the memo section of your cheque.

Monthly Giving

Join our monthly giving program online at Canada Helps. Select the monthly giving option. This is a convenient way to spread your donation throughout the year. The steady, regular nature of monthly giving allows OCISO to plan ahead and respond to the ever-changing needs of our community.

Become an OCISO Member

Donate $35 or more to become an OCISO member. As an OCISO member, you will be kept up-to-date on our activities and services through our newsletters and annual reports. Members are encouraged to attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the fall to vote in the Board of Directors and learn about our activities and accomplishments.

In Honour/Memoriam Gifts

Make a gift in memory of a loved one, or celebrate a special occasion in the life of a friend, family member, or colleague.

Planned Giving/Legacy Gifts

You can support OCISO with gifts of stock, life insurance, annuities, trust, and bequests. A planned gift leaves a legacy for generations to come. Ask us how.

Gifts In-kind

Corporate and individual donations and sponsorship opportunities can be customized to your (or organization’s) goals and interests. To explore other opportunities for donating gifts in-kind to OCISO, please contact us.

Tax Benefits of Giving

An additional benefit to making a charitable contribution to OCISO, besides the satisfaction you feel from helping, is a tax receipt. For donations over $20, OCISO will issue a tax receipt for 100% of the value of your donation.

Accountability to Our Community

Making a donation to OCISO enables us to continue to support immigrants through their journey to successful integration, and ensuring that they become equal and full participants in our community by contributing to the social, cultural and economic vibrancy of Ottawa with their skills, talents and experiences.

We respect and value the contributions of our donors. It is our obligation that we abide to ethical principles to protect the confidentiality of our donors and act with utmost integrity and professionalism at all times, in line with OCISO’s values and privacy policy.

OCISO has adopted the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Code of Ethical Principles and Standards.
