Support Us 2017-03-21T14:39:19+00:00

OCISO annually serves approximately 10,000 newcomers through our various award winning programs. We rely on the support of community donors and sponsors in addition to the funding we receive from government, foundation and education sector funders. We are immensely grateful to our funders, donors and sponsors. Your contributions enable us to continue to offer our wide-ranging programs and to effectively meet the emerging needs in our community. How You Can Support Us

Please help us to build a stronger, healthier diverse community. Every dollar counts! These are just some of the ways you can support our mandate:

Make a Donation
Donate directly to an OCISO Program by clicking Canada Helps. Select a featured fund/designation and complete the donation process. You can also send in a cheque or VISA payment. Please specify the OCISO service at the Memo section.

Monthly Giving
Join our monthly giving program online by clicking on Canada Helps. Select the monthly giving option. This is a convenient way to spread your donation over the entire year. The steady, regular nature of monthly giving allows OCISO to plan ahead and respond to the ever-changing needs of the community. You can come back to make changes to your giving anytime.

Become an OCISO Member
Donate $35 or more to become an OCISO member. As an OCISO member, you will be kept up to date on our activities and services through our newsletters and Annual Reports. Members are encouraged to attend our Annual General Meeting (AGM) in the fall to vote in the Board of Directors and learn about the organization’s activities and accomplishments of the previous year.

In Honour/Memoriam Gifts
Make a gift in memory of a loved one, or celebrate a special occasion in the life of a friend, family member, or colleague.

Planned Giving/Legacy Gifts
You can support OCISO with gifts of stock, life insurance, annuities, trust, and bequests. A planned gift leaves a legacy for generations to come. Ask us how.

Gifts In-kind
Corporate and individual donations and sponsorship opportunities can be customized to your (or organization’s) goals and interests. To explore other opportunities for your involvement with OCISO, please contact us.

Tax Benefits of Giving
One additional benefit to making a charitable contribution to OCISO, besides the satisfaction you feel from helping, is a tax benefit. OCISO will issue a tax receipt for 100% of the value of your donation for your tax return purposes. Deducting your gifts can lead to considerable savings for you.

Accountability to Our Community

Making a donation to OCISO enables us to continue to support immigrants through their journey to successful integration, and ensuring that they become equal and full participants in our community by contributing to the social, cultural and economic vibrancy of Ottawa with their skills, talents and experiences.

We respect and value the contributions of our donors. It is our obligation that we abide to ethical principles to protect the confidentiality of our donors and act with utmost integrity and professionalism at all times, in line with OCISO’s values and Privacy Policy. OCISO adopts the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Code of Ethical Principles and Standards.“© 1964, Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), all rights reserved. To ensure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, OCISO, like other AFP affiliated member organizations declare that all donors have the following rights as specified in the Donor Bill of Rights. Among other rights, our donors are assured that their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
