If you are a newcomer youth looking forward to employment, keep reading for details and join our next cohort
OCISO's latest project, officially called Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, or YESS for short, is geared towards newcomer youth, ages between 15 and 30. If you are unemployed or underemployed, our four-pillar program may be right for you!
Employment support workshops
Explore short and long-term career prospects, develop skills, build your resume, and get interview coaching and much more! (This is a 3 week commitment: Monday to Friday, between 10 am - 3 pm)
1-to-1 Employment coaching
Receive 1-to-1 employment coaching sessions tailored to your individual needs.
Developing Community Connections
Benefit from networking and 1-to-1 supports from OCISO Alumni Community to identify employment opportunities.
Gaining workplace experience
Get introduced to employment opportunities, via speed interviews or 1-1 introductions.
If you are a newcomer youth facing barriers to employment, the YESS Project will give you greater access to work opportunities and experience. You will gain the skills, work experience, and abilities you need to make a successful transition into the Ottawa labour market.
Our group workshops are focused on employability development, which means you will be supported to increase your confidence, identify employment opportunities linked to transferable skills and gain paid or unpaid work experience.
