Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization (OCISO) is pleased to announce that the 2019 Marion Dewar Scholarship Fund annual fundraising dinner will take place on November 6, 2019 at the Algonquin College Restaurant International.
The Marion Dewar Scholarship Fund was established in 2008, in honour of the late Marion Dewar, former Mayor of Ottawa. The goal of the fund is to provide financial support for three immigrant and refugee students going on to post-secondary education in the National Capital Region.
Join us for a memorable night of food, wine and culture. Cathy Dewar, Marion’s daughter, is the Manager of the Algonquin College Restaurant International and she has taken a leadership role in hosting this very special dinner supported by Algonquin College.
The meal will be prepared by renowned chef Ric Lee. Ric Lee has been on the cutting edge of the food trends worldwide — working at the Fairmont Banff Springs, in many countries, and cooking for celebrities like Tiger Woods, Clint Eastwood, Bob Hope and Prince Harry.
The event will begin with hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, followed by a three course meal with fine wines. The full menu for the dinner can be found here.
Cathy is very excited to help organize this Marion Dewar Scholarship Fund dinner to raise funds for the scholarship fund named after her mother.
I have always had a passion working with young people and have worked a lot with new Canadians.
