OCISO has an ongoing partnership with CompuCorps TechReuse to make low-cost computer systems available to community members. It is our hope to bridge the digital divide and enable community members to access technology to help them integrate into the Canadian society and to pursue their career opportunities.
CompuCorps TechReuse accepts donations of computer equipment from industry donors. The equipment is refurbished, loaded with Windows XP Professional, and Microsoft Office 2003 Professional through a special agreement with Microsoft, and redistributed for a low, cost-recovery fee. Computers are available at different times throughout the year, with specifications varying depending upon available technology.
